To enter a note, type text into the text box at the bottom of the page and hit [Enter].
The timestamp for a note is the time you begin typing. Clearing the text box will reset the timestamp.
Authenticated users can take private notes by selecting their username in the "User" drop down list.
If the course administrator has enabled public notes, users can check the "public" check box to make their notes stream public and discoverable by other viewers.
Public notes streams can be viewed by selecting the user's username under the "Public Notes" section of the "User" drop down list.
Anonymous users can select "Log in..." to login and be returned to the viewer to take private notes.
Users without a CourseCast account can select "(anonymous)" and enter a personal channel name to take private notes.
Channels allow viewers without a CourseCast account to store their notes on the server and view them later.
By choosing a unique channel name that is hard to guess (effectively a password), the user can store notes privately.
Channels can also be used to create a collaboration space for notes.
By sharing a channel name, authenticated and anonymous users can take notes that will be visible to all channel participants.
