1. Click on System - Users in the left hand column

2.  Click on "New"

3. Fill in the information about the user that you are creating. Once completed, click "Submit" and an e-mail will be sent to notify the new user of their account information.

You may also check "Specify a password" and you will be able to enter the password that you would like this user to have.

4.  Click the button "Select User Roles"

System Roles:

5. Administrators have access to all parts of the Panopto system.  They have the ability to add/delete users, folders, sessions, etc...  We recommend only giving administrative rights to select users.

Videographers have the ability to add folders and sessions as well as record to all folders.  They also have the ability to edit all sessions.  We recommend giving A/V professionals the Videographer role.

If you selected a one of the above options, click the button "Update Roles"

If you do not select one of the above check boxes, a user is created without any rights. 

6. To add Creator rights, click the "Select a folder to add" dropdown and choose a Folder under the Creator Roles section. Creators can record and edit recordings in their folders only.

Within the dropdown box, if folders are already created, you can choose one or multiple folders for which the user can present (record) to.

7.  To add Viewer rights, click the "Select a folder to add" dropdown and choose a Folder under the Viewer Roles section. Viewers can only view recordings that they are give permission to.
