In Panopto v2.2, you may download recordings into an offline format.  The offline recording may then be put on a CD or DVD, or shared somewhere on your network for users to download.  This feature is helpful for users who may not have Internet access or have slower (dial up) access and need to be able to view recordings.

The process for downloading lectures is very simple and only available for Admins, Videographers, and Presenters.  Users with viewer accounts do not have the ability to download lectures.

Begin by logging into your Panopto website with an account that has either Admin or Videographer rights, or is a Presenter for the Folder you wish to download content from.

Once in the system, click on Folders in the left-hand frame.

Locate the Folder and Session that you want to download offline.  Click "Details" to the right of the Session name.

Once you are on the Session Details page for the Session you wish to download, simply click the "Download" link and save the file.

The ZIP file that you will download contains several files.  To play the offline version of the recording, simply extract the contents of the ZIP file and open the "Default.htm" file in your default browser.

All functionality of the normal Panopto Viewer will still be available with the exception of Notes and Search since that material is stored on your Panopto SQL database.
