Web Configuration Settings

Below is a list of settings that are available to change.

  • WebServerFQDN - The name of your Panopto web server.

  • DataServerFQDN - The name of your Panopto data server.
  • ShowPublicSessionsInPrivateFolders - Setting to stop showing public sessions on the portal
  • ShowContentOnPortal - Setting to hide content on the portal page (most popular and most recent sessions)

  • TimeZone - Current time zone of the Panopto web server.

  • supportEmailAddress - The "From" address on all system generated emails.

  • supportEmailFriendlyName - The friendly name of the above address.

  • cdnStaticHTTPFQDNBase - Do not change this value.

  • cdnWindowsMediaOnDemandFQDNBase - Do not change this value.

  • ClientApplicationsVersion - The current version of the Panopto recorder. If you click edit, the revert to default value will reveal the exact Panopto version number.

  • HelpURLBase - Where the Help links redirect to in the web interface. You can route this to a local support web page if desired. Default value is http://support.panopto.com/Documentation/Panopto30/

  • DefaultMembershipProvider - The default login when users hit the Panopto website. Can be an LMS provider, AD or Panopto. More here

  • CacheSalt - Do not change this value.

  • SchedulingAvailableToCreators - True/False. This hides schedule page from creators in web interface

  • UseCreatorLockdown - True/False. This enables/disables creators to add folders and subfolders from the recorder and the web UI.

  • VideoPodcastsEnabled - True/False. Enables/disables video podcasting system-wide.

  • LiveNotesEnabled - True/False. Enables/disables live notes.

  • SecureLoginPage – True/False. Sets Panopto web interface to use SSL connection on login only.

  • Podcastsenabled - True/False. Enables/disables all podcasting (audio and video system-wide.)

  • CreatePrivateSessionGroups - True/False. Set to false to make all new folders public by default.

  • PodcastSlideDisplayIntervalSeconds - time (in seconds). Changes the default transition interval for mp4 creation. The default value is 60 seconds..

  • TranscriptUploadEnabled - True/False. Enables uploading transcription files (.dfxp type).

  • TranscriptionIsEnabled - True/False. Allows transcription.

  • IsSCORMEnabled -True/False. Allows you to download the SCORM manifest for each session.
  • DefaultPodcastType = PIP, MixedVideo, Primary Only,...etc. It's the same list to what is available on the outputs page and allows you to set a default for all podcasts.
  • MacApplicationsVersion - Allows you to view the current Mac recorder distribution your using

 

1. To change any of these values, login at the Panopto Portal page. You will automatically be redirected to the Sessions page.

2. Click the System tab in the bottom of the left side column.

3. Under System, click the Settings Tab.

4. At the bottom of the Settings page you will have the option to add a setting.

5. Add one of the above settings and click "Add Setting" - Insert the value and select save.
